“Objects of Wonder”, Long-term Special Exhibit, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC.

Winner of the 2017 Smithsonian Award for Exhibition Excellence, the long-term special exhibition, “Objects of Wonder”, highlights some of the most remarkable objects in the collections of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the incredible stories and science behind those objects. As media and technology lead for the exhibition team, I worked with the exhibition developer, curators, writer, av staff, and media contractors to conceptualize and produce a number of unique media and interactive pieces for the exhibition.  These included a projected 3D animation that helped visitors visualize a transformation from a jumble of fossil bones into its original living creatures, a timed lighting and audio experience projected onto a giant illustrated Tsimshian house front as the voice of a native storyteller told the illustrated story, a number of exhibition videos, and the design and programming of interactive kiosks.
